We are preparing a robust menu to feature some Echo classics and special dishes for the evening. Guests may order a la cart or the full 5 course dinner with wine pairing for $60. Space is limited for dinner, so act fast.

Thank you to everyone who supported and enjoyed our delicious brunch offerings over the course of this spring and summer. We’re looking forward to keeping or rotating some of the favorite dishes on a new late(r) night menu. Let us know if there’s anything you don’t want to live without until next spring.
Lorraine L. “Stratt” Stratton has been photographing since the late sixties, when she was in junior high. She currently teaches photography, yearbook and credit recovery classes at Clackamas High School southeast of Portland, OR. About her Instruments collection, Lorraine writes:
I’ve been photographing musical instruments for the past few years. Last spring (2008) I worked with one of my high school students on band instruments (clarinet, English horn, flute, tenor saxophone and oboe). He brought them from home and from the band room. I showed him how to use my light tent and macro lens then turned him loose. When he was done I took advantage of their presence and created my own images. He created his best work all year and I was inspired to continue my journey photographing instruments.

Recently, the Portland Monthly magazine named Echo as one of the “Six ways to savor the last days of the season.” We were delighted for the compliments and happy to help so many of you stay cool and relaxed. If you haven’t checked us out, come see what all the summer hype is about.
Summer in a Cup
A Pimm’s Cup slides down as smoothly as a Long Island Iced Tea, but without the sucker punch. A classic version of the English cocktail, like the one offered by Echo Restaurant, starts with muddled cucumber shaken with Pimm’s Cup No. 1, a dark, herbaceous, but gentle 50-proof liqueur. Add in gin, fresh-squeezed lemon and lime, and ginger ale, and this concoction will brighten your day instead of blurring it.

Jewel Mlnarik, a local artist and freelance technical consultant, shows a selection of her black and white photos from a road trip across America. The portraits, a selection from her Talk to Strangers series, explore the commonalities threaded through us all. Swing by before August 12 to take a look, enjoy a vintage cocktail or refreshing beer, cool off in the air conditioning and talk to strangers. Friends are OK, too.
Artist reception is Monday night, August 3rd from 5pm – close. Swing by for happy hour, dinner or conversation.
Join us on Tuesday nights for live music. Various DJs spin ambient music, a perfect pairing for your cocktails and dessert.
We are very excited for our upcoming block party on Saturday, July 25th. If you’ve never been, now’s the time to check out some delicious fare and have fun. That’s right, we’ll be sectioning off the parking lot and turning it into a large summer patio, complete with live music, some of our best menu selections and special BBQ fare and fun summer games. And you can count on our mixologists to be serving up our classic cocktails to help keep you cool. (Did we mention we have shade in our back patio?)

The new crew, including the two new co-owners, are looking forward to meeting their new neighbors and offering enjoyment for all. We’ll be updating our site with information on the bands that will be playing, so be sure to check back often.
And be sure to swing by the Echo between July 10 – July 24 to pick up your postcard and chance to win a $50 gift certificate. The winner will be selected at the block party.
